PROGRAMS
Single-Family and Multifamily Direct Install Program
Energy-efficiency experts will canvass designated neighborhoods and identify single and multifamily homes that qualify for the installation of a variety of free energy-efficient measures such as compact fluorescent lamps (CFLs) and indoor and/or exterior hardwired lighting. Residents with single family homes may also receive a free energy analysis that can help them identify how they are using their energy and ways to save.

Home-Buyer Program
Identify local, government-sponsored energy policy priorities Specialized services to home-buyers, including an energy audit of the recently purchased home and free energy-efficient measures such as compact fluorescent lamps (CFLs), interior and/or exterior hardwired lighting. Qualifying home-buyers will be referred to applicable incentive programs that may help offset the initial investment in other, recommended energy-efficiency measures.

Small Business Direct Install Program
Energy-efficiency experts will contact local small businesses and offer to perform a free energy audit that helps the business owner identify energy-saving opportunities and provides information regarding energy-efficient equipment. Qualifying customers may receive direct installation of selected energy-efficient measures, such as lighting, LED exit signs, occupancy sensors, and more, free of charge.

Municipal Facility Retrofits
Technical consultants will survey major energy-consuming systems within public facilities owned, operated or occupied by the City of Bakersfield and the County of Kern. The consultants will identify potential energy-efficiency opportunities and recommend applicable incentive programs that may help offset the initial investment in energy-efficiency measures. Project management services may also be available to qualified municipal facilities.

Training and Education
Local energy-efficiency classes are offered for residential and commercial building professionals such as construction contractors, engineers, architects and lighting designers, energy consultants and facility managers. Participants will learn about the latest developments in energy-efficient HVAC, technology, lighting, windows, hot water systems and more.

California consumers are not obligated to purchase any full fee service or other service not funded by this program. This program is funded by California utility ratepayers under the auspices of the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC). Funding is limited. Rebates and services are provided on a first-come, first-served basis until December 31, 2008 or until program funds are depleted, whichever comes first.
